Fine Chamois shot by Mark, Auckland. A Good effort on foot in these steep mountain ranges. Hunting is all done by foot, with helicopters sometimes used to access mountain huts or tent sites.

1. " Chamois a Speciality" we offer a complete package for these . $2900 covers all costs and trophy fees.
$2900 one guide - one hunter, $2250 for second hunter, one guide on two hunters.
50% Refund if not got., conditions apply.

2. A complete package on Thar. Pick up from Christchurch Airport 3-5 Days $3750 one hunter-one guide, $3250 for second hunter, one guide - two hunters. Most hunts are on private land. Thar are best hunted April to August and rifles available at no extra cost.

3. Package deal for Red Stag. No daily fees.
Free range on private land, 10 to 20 points.
NZ $300/ Point or US $250 / Point over 20 Points POA.
3 Day hunt March till August.

A cheaper package is available on public land but success not guaranteed and high fitness required.

Max 2 Hunters, 1 Guide per party.

Includes all meals and accommodation at Avonlea Lodge.

Non hunting partners free accommodation and meals while you hunt. Tours for your wives can be arranged.

If the animal species sought is not seen during your stay you only pay for accommodation.

Accommodation while hunting Thar or Chamios is farm cottage, mountain hut, or tent.

Species List

Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Chamois, Thar, Pig, Goat, Wild Ram, Turkey, Quail.

North Island hunts for sika samba and rusa deer also available.

Other birds and animals by arrangement.

Requirements

Deer 1 -3 Days for Meat, 3 days for Trophy.

Pig 1-3 Days.

Chamois 3 Days on foot minimum.

Option Helicopter access $1200/hr .

Thar 3-5 Days on foot.

Option Helicopter access $1200/hr.

We now offer hunting on private hunting preserves for Thar, chamois, fallow, gold and silver medal
red stag, wapiti, sika, samba, and rusa deer POA.

There is open season in New Zealand all year on all species. Thar and Chamois skins are best in winter, May till August. Deer are in Velvet from November to early February. They shed their antlers after September. The roar is mid March until April. Hunters personal gear should include quality sleeping bag, spare warm clothing and socks, good boots and gaiters, water proof coat, headlight, spare batteries, rifle ammunition.
